Illinois Gets Honor Of Opening NCAA Football Season

The Big Ten released their football schedule today and the University of Illinois found themselves in the national spotlight. 

If (and this is a BIG if) everything goes as planned for the next month the University of Illinois will host Ohio State on September 3rd, a Thursday night game, and will be the first game between two power 5 schools.

The entire country will be watching this game so it will be a chance for Lovie Smith and his team to show the college football world if they're ready to be a team to contend with.

Like I said, there are a bunch of hurdles to get to September 3rd, but if they pull it off it will be nice to see Champaign back in the national spotlight.
