IHOP Adds First New Flavor in 30 Years: Sweet & Spicy Maple
Do you like a little sweet with your heat?
If you haven't experienced the proper heat to sweetness ratio, you're missing out. I've had some hot and BBQ sauce that has a nice balance to both. But I hadn't thought about how some heat would pair with maple syrup.
IHOP must've because for the first time in 30 years they've added a new syrup flavor to the mix.
Most of the time if you're at an IHOP you'll notice Blueberry, Butter Pecan, Strawberry, and Original syrup on the table. Now Maple Sweet & Spicy is the new guy to go along with the chain's Kickin' Maple Chicken BreakFEAST.
This sounds so good too!
The new entree is buttermilk crispy chicken breast drizzled in the new syrup, along with four strips of hickory-smoked bacon, hashbrowns, two eggs, toast, and two buttermilk pancakes.
For my fellow spice lovers, the heat in this dish is coming from jalapenos, ancho, and red chili pepper flakes.
Maple Sweet & Spicy syrup is available at participating IHOP's upon request. Thankfully there are four locations in and around Rockford for us to see if it's available.
