How The Eagle is the Metallica of 2014 [GALLERY]

The 2014 Chili Shootout was a blast. The weather was a little cool to say the least, but at least it wasn't an Ice Cream Social we were puttin' on. Actually, it was perfect chili-eating weather. The rain was done by mid-morning, at about the same time that the chili cooks were firing up the burners.

As you know, we here at The Eagle bragged a lot about how our chili was going to win the radio competition at the Shootout this year. We've won a couple of times in the past and we could taste the glory in the weeks leading up to the event.

While we didn't win the trophy this year, we will never acknowledge the 'winner'. Why? Because our chili kicked ass. Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and sampled our Championship Chili. We made friends, ate chili and passed gas. Not Lori of course, she's a real lady.

Oh, and if you're wondering why 96.7 The Eagle is the Metallica of 2014? Let's go back to 1989 when Metallica was the assumed winner of the first ever Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.
