Rockford is so awesome, we have our own day to celebrate just how awesome we are.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other place that has it's own day. Can you?

Rockford is celebrating today, August 15th, better known as 8-15, or now known as 815 Day or Rockford Day. Rockford Day aims to showcase the people, places and things that make Rockford great, and to introduce people to some of Rockford’s best kept secrets.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that 815 is the area code in Rockford, but I'll put it out there for you anyways.

In a Facebook Live Video this morning, Mayor Morrissey declared today Rockford Day.

To celebrate, over 75 businesses are offering special deals and events around town. To learn more of the different events and deals visit the Rockford Day Facebook Page.
