Illinois will become the coolest state for one day when the Fonz comes to visit for a very special event.
Henry Winkler Is Coming To The Woodstock Opera House
Children today have no idea what it was like growing up without all their entertainment options. There are so many choices for their viewing pleasure. When I was a kid, there were three networks. Pretty much everyone watched the same shows every week.

Back in those days, one of the most popular shows for students at my school was a program called "Happy Days." The main reason everyone liked it was because of one of the main characters. That was "The Fonz" played by Henry Winkler.

The Fonz was a leather jacket wearing, motorcycle driving, and overall cool guy. He could control the world with a snap of his fingers. The girls loved him. Everyone repeated his catchphrase "AHHHHHHH!!" and gave the thumbs-up sign. I remember in 3rd grade at least five boys in my class dressed like him for Halloween.
My family took a vacation to Washington DC when I was a kid. I made my parents take me to the Smithsonian so I could get my picture with Fonzie's jacket which was on display there. I got the opportunity to meet Henry Winkler a few years ago at the unveiling of the Bronz Fonz statue in Milwaukee.
Recently, I heard some great news for "Happy Days" and "Fonzie" fans. Henry Winkler will be making a special appearance at the Woodstock Opera House. The event is on November 9th. Tickets are on sale now.
