It might not be the best day weather wise to play catch in Rockford but that didn't matter to author, Ethan Bryan, he's played catch in worse.

You've probably heard of Beyer Stadium on 15th street in Rockford, the stadium the original Rockford Peaches played at starting in 1947.

If you don't know who the Rockford Peaches are, I'm going to have to ask you to move to another city. Sorry, it's a requirement. So is watching 'A League of Their Own,' so make sure you do that too.

Today at Beyer Stadium, a man named Ethan Bryan stopped by to give brand new baseball gloves to the Lil Peaches.

In 2018, Ethan decided to play catch for an entire year straight, after being convinced by his daughters that it would be fun.

I'm pretty sure it was fun because after completing the task at the end of the year, two things happened.

First, he wrote the book, 'A Year of Playing Catch,' and he's also traveling the Midwest this week, for National Play Catch Week, and donating gloves to kids in need.

That's what he was doing today at Beyer, donating the gloves.

Really this story is so much fun and you should hear Ethan tell it instead of me. Lucky you, he'll be on Good Day Stateline this Sunday at 9am on WTVO - don't miss it!
