Life Is All About Making Trades

I learned the art of making trades at an early age. Growing up, I was the youngest kid on my block. The older boys in the neighborhood taught me how to make a decent swap. It was usually for things like baseball cards, comic books, and cassettes. It's all about making a good deal.

Even as an adult I still do it. Nowadays, it's more like I'll get the concert tickets and you pay for dinner or something like that. It usually works out well. My friends are all about making deals too.

Trades Are Huge In Professional Sports

If you're a fan of professional sports, then you know all about trades. I'm always hoping my favorite players don't get sent to another team. Especially, if I've purchased their jersey. It's usually better for the team and player if a deal is made.

One kind of trade you don't see a lot of is between teams in the same city. They are competing for fans and don't want to give their rival an advantage. For example, the Chicago Cubs and White Sox don't swap players very often.

Lincoln Park Zoo And Brookfield Zoo Make An Animal Trade

Even though they do exist, you really don't see too many trades between zoos. Especially, with Lincoln Park Zoo and Brookfield Zoo. Wouldn't that be hilarious? Something like five monkeys were traded for an alligator and a bird to be named later.

Recently, a swap was made between the two popular Illinois zoos. A grey seal pup named Fisher was born at Lincoln Park Zoo in January and dealt to Brookfield Zoo. Details of the trade weren't released but speculation is it was for either an animal to be named later or cash consideration.

According to nbcchicago.com,

Fisher, a male grey seal pup born at Lincoln Park Zoo in January can now be seen at Brookfield Zoo, where he was transferred to join Brookfield's grey seal colony at the recommendation of the Association of Zoos (AZA) and Aquariums Grey Seal Species Survival Plan (SSP), officials say.
