George Harrison Memorial Tree Killed By Beetles
You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried. Isn't it ironic?
According to Spin.com, a 10-foot-tall pine tree was planted in honor of George Harrison in 2004. A plaque accompanied the 'George Harrison Tree' reading: "In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener."
The tree has now fallen as it has been attacked and killed by beetles.
Councilman Tom LaBonge says a new one will be planted shortly.
