Four Spots To Enjoy Sick Snowmobile Rides Just Outside of Illinois

Some may say I'm jumping the gun a bit here since the Rockford area hasn't seen our first major snow event of the season yet, but there is nothing wrong with planning ahead, right?

I have enough snowmobilers in my life to know November is the time of the year where the need for speed kicks in high gear, and thoughts of fresh snow trails take over all their dreams.

If you're currently looking for cool places to take your snowmobile this winter, here's some places Travel Wisconsin says are awesome, and not too far of a drive from Illinois:

Cheese Country Recreation Trail - This 47-mile trail begins in Monroe, Wisconsin (hello lots of great cheese and beer), and "crosses several vintage trestle bridges and goes through a number of old mining towns that have since been converted into unique spots with their own special attractions" according to Travel Wisconsin.

Walworth County Trails - Located near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Travel Wisconsin says 14 different snowmobile clubs spend a lot of time grooming and maintaining these trails to make sure they are the best in the area.

Glacial Drumlin State Trail - This 52-mile trail is located between Madison and Milwaukee and it takes you through several small towns like Lake Mills and Delafield that offer several great places to eat or enjoy some hot toddies, (or whatever else you want to drink),

Racine and Kenosha County Trails - Travel Wisconsin says, "19 snowmobile clubs tend 312 trail miles through farm country and some wooded areas in a region that receives around 50 inches annually" . There's even a chocolate museum you have to visit when traveling through Burlington, Wisconsin on this trail!
