Five Things I Learned About Riding a Motorcycle
Over the weekend I went to motorcycle school.
Classroom work, range riding work, I went to Harley Davidson school over the weekend and I passed!
It has been a long time since I went to a class, studied and took a test. Without a doubt this was the most fun I have ever had in a classroom setting.
O.K., so there was a lot more to the Harley Davidson Riding Academy then just classroom work. Obviously if you are going to learn how to ride a motorcycle you need to get on one.
I was in a class of six people, six different people from all different walks of life. We worked together supported each other and learned how to properly ride a motorcycle.
Here are Five Things I Learned About Riding a Motorcycle:
- You are in control of the motorcycle, you determine what happens
- Having positive and happy instructors makes all the difference in the word. We all had a blast.
- Riding a figure eight is a tight space was the most challenging part, but I did it.
- If you "feel" safe as you ride, makes everything 100% easier
- Pink Floyd is my riding music of choice.
When I came time Sunday to take the actual tests, I weirdly got nervous about the riding part and not the written, which I thought was backwards. I felt really comfortable on the bike, but missed half of a day of the classroom work so I thought I would be nervous putting pencil to paper. The three questions I missed were all questions I missed while I was gone, figures.
What a great time, thank you to everyone associated with The Harley Davidson Riding Academy. Now that I passed, it's off to the DMV to get my license.
