A theater in Wisconsin has started offering a movie series and the tickets cost just $5.

Wisconsin Theater Offers $5 Movies

I love going to the theater to see movies. The big screen is where films were meant to be seen. I understand the convenience of streaming services but it's just not the same experience. I wish I could go more often but I check them out whenever possible.

The only problem with going to see movies at the theater is the price. It has gotten super expensive. Especially, if you're going opening weekend during prime hours. Then add the expense of snacks and drinks. You'll end up emptying your wallet.

Back when I was growing up, we had what we called "The Cheap Show" or "The Dollar Theater." After movies had been out for a while, they would move to a place like that. It would only cost us a buck so we went all the time.

Unfortunately, there are no more "Cheap Shows" in existence. There is a theater in Madison that is trying to make going to the movies more affordable for fans. If we had a place like this in Rockford, I would go see a lot more flicks on the big screen.

The place is called the Bartell Theatre. This fall they're starting up a $5 movie series. That's super reasonable. I'll pay for that anytime. They're going to have family events during the day with a brew and view style for the adults at night. They'll also be running themes. For example, there will be a lot of Halloween movies during November.
