First Egg Prices Soar in Illinois, Now Word of Sailboat Fuel Blowing up in Spring!
This whole egg price thing has absolutely consumed my life. The price of eggs in Illinois is getting way out of hand! NPRILLINOIS
I paid $13.00 for an 18 pack of eggs the other night. My wife and I eat a lot of eggs, so you just have to do it. I did find myself carrying them out of the store, and setting them in my car a LOT more careful...Breaking one of them, that's like $2 or something.
So here's the deal, same demand, less supply. That is really what it boils down to. Because of these chickens getting sick with that nasty "bird flu" and dying off, the amount of eggs a farmer can supply your grocery store with is limited. Sucks.
But as if that wasn't bad enough, now comes word that sailboat fuel is going to skyrocket by spring. As the weather becomes nicer and sailboat owners start to get things cleaned up and ready to hit the water, here comes another crucial price hike.
Sailboat fuel in the past had always cost next to nothing, it just kinda blows you away with the availability and supply. But with the economy the way it is, experts are predicting that sailboat fuel will be the next thing to really make us think twice on making "guilty pleasure" purchases.
So for those ready to get out on the Rock River or even Lake Michigan this spring and summer, you might want to adjust your 2023 spending accordingly...The price of sailboat fuel this year will BOW YOU AWAY.
