A truck driver and fellow motorists save a Grandmother and her 1-year-old Granddaughter from their vehicle as it bursts into flames.

Watching this video brought tears to my eyes. It's videos like this that make my faith in humanity grow. It amazes me how quickly some people can spring to action when it is absolutely needed.

I was working at a restaurant as a server and a fellow employee was polishing a wine glass at the bar. Suddenly, the wine glass broke and the stem went straight into her wrist. I was closest to her yet did not see the accident that happened. She came running to me, begging for a tourniquet, screaming for help.

I stood in silence, staring at her, having no clue what she was saying or what was happening. I never saw her injury or her grabbing her wrist. I just kept staring into her eyes thinking 'what is happening!?' It felt like hours, yet it was a mere split second. In a flash, other staff members and management sprang into action and she was whisked away to the hospital and all was well.

She was lucky to have heroes surrounding her. I think about that incident frequently, as it truly struck a cord with me. I was not a hero. I must learn to be better prepared and able to see clearly in the face of danger.

It amazes me how this man and the fellow drivers jumped into action when seeing a car burst into flames after hitting a semi-truck. These are true heroes. WGN reports, the grandmother and child were rescued, and after a few minor injuries, they are safe and lucky to be alive.
