Illinois Museum To Host Evel Knievel Tribute Tour
Way before there were extreme sports and Jackass, there was Evel Knievel the greatest stunt performer of all time.
The Evel Knievel Tribute Tour Is Making A Special Stop In Illinois
When I was growing up there weren't all sports television channels like ESPN. There were only three major networks with some smaller independent stations. We didn't have many especially when it came to coverage of teams and athletes.

The best sports coverage back in those days was on ABC's Wide World of Sports. It would air on Saturday afternoons. They would cover sports that didn't get a lot of love in the mainstream media. I remember watching the Harlem Globetrotters on the show.
My favorite episodes were when Evel Knievel was on to make one of his amazing jumps on his motorcycle. I was a huge fan. I had a bunch of his toys. The stunts he would do were very dangerous. He crashed many times and got seriously injured.
One time, Evel was going to jump over a pool full of sharks. My parents made me eat green beans and I hated them. I sat at the table for a long time before I gave in and ate them. I didn't want to miss the stunt. Unfortunately, he got hurt in practice and never completed the jump. I still hate green beans because of that.
There is now an Evel Knievel Tribute Tour. It's a traveling exhibit showcasing some of his stunt vehicles, costumes, collectibles, and more. This a must-see for any fans. I'm trying to figure out how to fit it into my schedule.
This special tour is coming to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois. Unfortunately, it's only there for three days from August 23rd through the 25th. If you want to see it, then you can't wait.
