According to WREX, the shelves at Eagles Nest Food Pantry are emptying quickly and they are at dangerously low level. Amanda Kieper, Lead Adviser for Rock Valley College Students of Service says

I’ve never seen the food pantry this low and that speaks to the need that is in our community. Our students are hungry

With the low supplies, they have to limit how much food an individual takes. TRIO Student Support Services is trying to get help with a partnership with Northern Illinois Food Bank to fill those shelves. Even then it won't be enough and they need support from the community. If you have extra perishables or canned food items that are taking up room in your cupboard you can donate them to Eagles Nest Food Pantry.
