The Volo Auto Museum, just an hour or so from Rockford, has said the Dukes of Hazzard car, The General Lee, will remain on display.

In case you don't know, The General Lee features a Confederate flag on the roof.

The (Confederate) flag has been seen as a glorification of the Civil War, racism, slavery and white supremacy, while in some areas it is used to celebrate Southern heritage.

While the Confederate flag and images bearing it are being removed nationwide some are staying put.

The director of the museum, Brian Grams told the Daily Herald last week:

Several people have reached out with positive comments about us leaving it (the Dukes of Hazzard car) on display...complimenting us for leaving it there and not having a knee-jerk reaction to remove it like a lot of places are.

It seems like The General Lee will remain inside the Volo Auto Museum for now, but his comments have sparked a debate as to whether or not the car should remain.

What do you think? Should the car stay in the museum or put into storage?
