An armored truck spilled cash all over a highway in New Jersey. Motorists wisely avoided the area... Just kidding, chaos broke out on the roadway.

The whole thing started on Route 3 West in East Rutherford, New Jersey when the rear door on a Brinks truck malfunctioned. The driver got out of the truck to retrieve the money that had been ejected from the vehicle.

As other drivers saw him running across the highway, they started to figure out what had happened and some got out of their cars to grab some cash. At least two crashes happened as a result of people stopping suddenly. Amazingly, nobody got hit by a car while running around.

The police in East Rutherford warn that anyone who took the spilled money can turn it in and not face any charges. Keeping the cash could land them in some hot water.
