Finally! Science that matters!

A new study from the University of Chicago says that drinking (a little) on your job my enhance problem solving skills and creativity.

Medical Daily says a study was done involving subjects drinking a couple glasses of wine or pints of beer before answering brain teaser questions. Turns out, those who drank before hand not only got more questions right, but they answered them quicker than those who were sober!

Why did this happen? Research suggests that alcohol may enhance problem solving by reducing the mind's working memory capacity, which is the ability to concentrate on something in particular.

Suggested inebriation level for work would be somewhere around 0.075 percent blood alcohol level. Research suggests that is when you are in your 'creative peak.' That sounds great and all, but how do you know when your blood alcohol level reaches that point?

Medical Daily reports that a creative agency and a Danish brewery teamed up and created 'The Problem Solver' beer. Isn't it true that after work, the pint you have with your co-workers usually ends up with a heated and productive conversation about how to make the work place better or how to complete your daunting tasks?

'The Problem Solver' beer has a scale on the back that will tell you when to stop drinking based on your gender and weight. It's conveniently marked, almost like a large measuring device to let you know when you have reached that level.

Although I wouldn't mind an excuse to have a brew or two at work, I don't think I would want to. Ever notice after a beer how sleepy you get? Or maybe I'm the only one.

Before you start opening a cold one at work everyday, you should ask your boss first.
