Double T had the opportunity to chat with the lead singer and guitar player, Don Barnes, from 38 Special and he had some great stories to share.

Don Barnes is one of the founding members of 38 Special. Through the years, 38 Special has been one of the most successful Southern Rock bands. They still sell out shows all over the country.

Like many bands' stories, there were some creative differences.Barnes left the band for a couple of years. During that time, he recorded a solo album. Unfortunately, record label issues caused it to be shelved and not released.

Several years later, he was approached to finally put the album out. Don has an interesting story of how he had to search to find the material after all this time.

Now, almost thirty years later, Don Barnes solo album, "Ride The Storm," is finally available.

38 Special has so many hit songs. Barnes explains how he came up with a couple of them and what it's like to write a popular song.

The band has been through Rockford a few times. You may have seen them at Oscar's Fest, Stars and Guitars at Davis Park, or at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

They have a couple of shows coming up close, on August 12th in Pontoon Beach, Illinois and on August 18th in Dubuque, Iowa.

Don Barnes was a fun interview and I hope you enjoy it.
