Did You Know Illinois Is The Home Of Spinach Loving Cartoon Hero?
The home for this spinach-loving hero is Illinois.
Popeye Is An Iconic Cartoon
When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of cartoons. I would watch them whenever I could. Children today have it so lucky. There are so many different places to see them. Back in the day, it was very limited.
I remember viewing shows like Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, and so many more. The full list would take forever to share.
Right up there at the top was Popeye. He made eating spinach cool.

I Learned Something New About Popeye And Illinois Today
If possible, I like to learn something new every day. It does not have to be anything huge. A small simple fact is good for me. Today, I thought it was fun.
According to chesterill.com,
"Chester, Illinois….the Home of Popeye the Sailor Man!"
They can make this claim because the creator of the Popeye cartoon was born in Chester, Illinois.
"In 1977 a bronze statue of Popeye was erected in honor of our hometown boy (creator of Popeye) Elzie C. Segar at the Segar Memorial Park."
Chester, Illinois Is Very Proud Of Their Popeye Roots
Chester, Illinois has really owned Popeye, which is really cool for this little town.
