Churches Are Now Essential Businesses in Illinois
Earlier this week The Beloved Church in Lena filed a lawsuit against Governor Pritzker over the banning of religious gatherings in Illinois. On Thursday the Governor responded by amending the stay-at-home order to include churches as essential businesses, but he also included some very specific restrictions.
According to WIFR.com;
The order allows for the gathering of up to ten people as long as they comply with social distancing requirements. Religious organizations are now encouraged to use online or drive in services to protect the health and safety of their congregants.
I'm not sure exactly what these drive-in church services will look like, or what churches plan to begin offering them, but I gotta believe this new amendment will provide hope for many Illinois residents who really need it right now.
