Canadian Fans Sing US National Anthem at NHL Game After Mic Failure
What is going on with performing the national anthem before hockey games in Canada?
First, there was the skater who infamously fell on the ice and now there's this.
Before Tuesday night's Nashville Predators-Toronto Maple Leafs game in Toronto, Michelle Madeira was singing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' when the microphone cut out, so fans, being the courteous Canadian folk Canadian folk are, picked up the slack and finished the song.
It's a pretty amazing sight, especially when you consider it's the national anthem for another country. We're pretty sure if this happened stateside, fans would've just muttered obscenities and debated how long to remain standing before getting too winded to stay on their feet.
After they wrapped 'The Star-Spangled Banner,' fans chimed in on 'O Canada' because they also have pride in their own country.
Way to go, Canada!
