The cast of a famous movie filmed in Illinois is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its release with a special reunion event in Chicago.

I've always been a big fan of movies. I know it's so easy to watch a flick on a streaming service but I much rather see a film on the big screen in a theater. It's a much better experience.

When I was a teenager, my friends and I went to the movies all the time. There were $1 shows at smaller local theaters. We could see our favorite ones over and over again. Some of those films I could really relate to and I still enjoy them still today.

Plus, there are some amazing movies that have been filmed in Illinois, especially around the Chicago area. Some of those flicks are my favorite of all time. I love seeing places I've been used as a backdrop for the movie.

Back in those days, there was little or no chance to meet your favorite celebrities. Nowadays, there are fan conventions where you can enjoy meet and greets with your favorite actors of all time.

Coming up in Illinois is the C2E2 fan convention at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago from April 11th through the 13th. This year they are featuring a very special celebration. It's the 40th anniversary of one of my favorite movies of all time.

The Breakfast Club cast will be getting back together for this special occasion. You'll have a chance to meet Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson), Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish), Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds), and Judd Nelson (John Bender).
