Boy or Girl? Old Wives’ Tales That Predict Gender

My husband and I have decided that we would like to know the gender of our first baby.

One night we went out for dinner and a person on the wait staff looked at me and firmly said, "it's a girl."

Yesterday at a home improvement store the lady at check out looked at me and firmly said, "it's definitely a boy."

Well, what is baby!?

At first, the decision wasn't so cut and dry. I absolutely wanted to know the gender of our baby. I'm a planner, I would rather decide on one baby name instead of two and knowing the gender in my eyes will help me bond better with the baby before baby is born.

My husband was not on the same path. He said there aren't many surprises in life and we should wait to find out. But after speaking to him a bit more, I realized it was the idea of finding out in a sterile doctor's office that made it less appealing.

We came up with the best compromise. Let's throw a party and we can all be surprised together!

Our party is scheduled for this weekend and the anticipation is killing me!
