You probably read the headline and thought it was silly for an officer to give a ticket for someone doing a good deed.

Well it's actually not silly at all.

The Belvidere Police Department will be participating in something called Operation Chill. Operation Chill is a program that happens in the summer months in partnership with 7-Eleven. An officer will 'ticket' young people in the community who are caught in the act of doing good deeds, according to RVPNews.com. Tickets are actually coupons for free Slurpee drinks!

How awesome is that! No good deed will go unnoticed, as countless numbers of free Slurpee's have been given out to youth since the program started in 1995.

This is a fantastic way for the police to interact with youth and give a positive glimpse into the work of an officer.
