Hunting season in Illinois is here, are you ready?

Hunting season in Illinois is so huge, you can feel the excitement building.

Turkey season (shotgun) just started and archery deer season. Before you know it the deer hunters will be out in full  force. I am reminded of this as I drive to and from work on Route 2 daily. Need to keep your eyes really peeled for Bambi and friends.

While I am not the hunting type, I do enjoy a venison steak or some jerky, hint hint Eagle faithful.

According to IL GOV here are the start and end dates of hunting in Illinois:

• Fall Turkey Season (Shotgun) - 10/22/2016 to 10/30/2016
• First Firearm Deer Season - 11/18/2016 to 11/20/2016
• Second Firearm Deer Season - 12/1/2016 to 12/4/2016
• First Muzzleloader Deer Season - 12/1/2016 to 12/4/2016
• Second Muzzleloader Deer Season - 12/9/2016 to 12/11/2016
• First Late-Winter/CWD Deer Season & County OTC - 12/29/2016 to 1/1/2017
• Archery Deer Season - 10/1/2016 to 1/15/2017
