A town in Wisconsin celebrates its history with the hamburger by hosting a giant burger fest each year during the fall.

This Food Festival In Wisconsin Celebrates The Home Of The Hamburger

My family and I are huge fans of hamburgers. When we travel, our group is always looking for the best burger joint in that area. You can't go wrong with a burger. I judge restaurants by their burgers. If they can't make a simple item like that, then how could they create anything else special on their menu.

Burger Fest is an amazing volunteer-run festival that raises funds for scholarships and community projects in the Home of the Hamburger, Seymour, Wisconsin. It draws people from around the world for small town fun with a big attitude!

There are a lot of places claiming to be the home of the burger, but for my money I'm going with the Wisconsin story. I believe that Charlie Nagreen from Seymour, Wisconsin is the founder of the hamburger. He started selling meatballs, but that didn't go so well. He ends up smashing them into burger patties and making them into a sandwich. The rest is food history.

To celebrate the fact that Seymour is the actual home of the burger, every year the town hosts a big burger festival. I gotta be honest, I'm surprised that there aren't more burger fests out there. This year Burger Fest will be held on Saturday, September 19th. It's more than just burgers. There is a market with vendors, live music, adult beverages, games, entertainment, live music, and so much more. If you're a big fan of burgers it's definitely worth checking out.
