Sure, you can just stay home on Friday night and have a boring grilled cheese sandwich.
Or you can do something a bit different but still, have that grilled cheese sandwich.
Forget everything you know about grilled cheese sandwiches before you place your order too.
That's because Crust & Crumbles is taking the standard (and kind of boring) grilled cheese sandwich and flipping it on its head.
They announced earlier this week they are hosting a Grilled Cheese Night, and it's one any and all cheese lovers won't want to miss.
For example, have you had Lobster Mac and Cheese? Delicious, right? Have you had a Lobster Mac Grilled Cheese? Personally, I haven't. That's part of the reason why I'm so stoked for this event.
Partially because, it's always a good thing to help out local businesses and too, there is no way in God's green Earth I could pull off a Lobster Mac Grilled Cheese Sandwich at home without potentially burning my place down.
Thankfully, I live close enough to Crust & Crumbles to avoid having to call the fire department and can just order a sando or two to go.
In case you're wondering, according to crustcrumbles.com, the Lobster Mac Grilled Cheese is "house-made macaroni & cheese with chunks of lobster meat melted with more cheese onto our Chive & Scallion sourdough slathered with Old Bay butter."
If Lobster Mac Grilled Cheese isn't your jam, Crust & Crumbles is offering up four others including:
- Fig Prosciutto
- Holiday Turkey Dinner
- Vegan Garden
Reviews have been generally positive regarding customer experience at Crust & Crumbles rating the bakeshop a 4 out of 5 on Yelp. One reviewer called it "an authentic eating experience that borders on 'art meets old world comfort.'" While another complained about being "very disappointed" after finding out the cost of a pie.
Either way, you can't make everyone happy. On the other hand, a bite of one of these grilled cheese sandwiches should turn a bad mood good quickly.
Crust & Crumbles is located at 116 North Madison Street in Rockford. Grilled Cheese Night is this Friday from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
