A Depressing Video Tour of the LAST Sears Store in Illinois

Sears stores are no more in the state of Illinois. "Come see the softer side of Sears."  "You can count on Sears."  "Sears has everything." "We done, peace out."

Growing up in Freeport I remember the Freeport Lincoln Mall having a Sears at one end and a JC Penny at the other. So as my mom grocery shopped next door at the Eagle Country Market, I would go tool around at the mall. They had a section where they had Atari 2600's set up and also some ColecoVision games set up...I would be good for an hour.

Let's take a guided tour through the last Sears store that existed, and then eventually shut down in 2022. The final location was in the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. Soon after they closed and sold their corporate headquarters located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

From clothes, to furniture, tools, beds. this 1970's and 1980's department store giant finally closed its Illinois doors. This location in the Woodfield Mall was opened in 1971, so it did in fact make it 50 years.
