A carnival set up in Antioch, Illinois had a terrible accident happen when a 10-year-old boy was thrown from a ride called, "Moby Dick." WeAre

This type of thing is always a concern for me...The safety of these rides that fly around at high rates of speed, especially with a smaller child "supposedly" locked in tight.

The "Taste of Antioch" festival was rocking and rolling when a scary moment happened. a 10-year-old boy was tossed from a ride. Another 10-year-old was very concerned about the safety of this ride, mentioning that he needed to adjust the bar that HELD HIM IN a few times, during the ride.

“My bar was coming up over my head, so every time I went up because it was going up and I was almost about to fall out, I would slam down to close it so that way I would not fall out, then as soon as it started slowing down and it was about maybe rocking on the floor, I was able to push it up and slide out.” - Elliott Johnson

This incident happened at 2:40pm in the afternoon on a Sunday, so this horrible situation was in plain view for all. The 10-year-old was flown to a nearby hospital, no details on his condition has been released yet.

“We are always trying to make sure these are safe fun family events and our thoughts and prayers go out to the child that fell and his family, I have two young daughters myself. It hit close to home and we have to make sure something like this never happens again and the child is OK.”- Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner
