There is a bunch of Chicago area museum locations that will open their doors for free this summer. Normally they are air conditioned, the price is right, and the kids with lean something over the summer. What a concept!

The best part, (besides being free) these are some amazing locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Some big time attractions in the big city. for the little ones. How great it this. So here are 5 Chicago Area Museums With FREE Admission Days This Summer:

  • Adler Planetarium - Illinois residents can enter for free on Wednesdays after 4 p.m.
  • Art Institute of Chicago - Illinois residents can go for free on Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. through the 31st of August.
  • The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center - Wednesdays it's free admission for Illinois residents.
  • Field Museum Free for the month of June for Illinois residents, June 6, 13, 19 only.
  • Museum of Science and Industry For the month of June: Free for Illinois residents June 1, 6, 7 also in August, Free for Illinois residents Aug. 22, 28, 29

So there you go, load up the car with plenty of snacks and hit the road. Pay for gas, grab the little ones a Slurpee at the Belvidere Oasis 7-11 and you should be golden.
