The Midwest, the middle of the country and Illinois can "seem" like a place that you can't get really high...But you can! Who knew that there were these four places, actually there's TEN but let's start with four for the first timers...

We will go backwards from four to one, because we don't want to get too high too quick...That's not good for the rest of your Illinois highs. So I guess the lowest high comes first, and this one isn't too far from Rockford! Ready to get high, people?

4. Starved Rock State Park - Oglesby, IL Elevation at the peak of Starved Rock, is 548 feet. Now that is pretty high!

3. Garden of the Gods Road - Garden of the Gods Rd, Illinois Highest elevation is around 800 feet.

2. Chestnut Mountain Resort, Galena, IL 61036 - This spot can get you super high, but not the highest! The elevation here will take you up to 3,500 feet high with a 475-foot vertical drop. Now that is a HIGH with quite a drop to the bottom.

1. Charles Mound, Scales Mound Township, IL - You are 1235 ft above sea level here folks, holy high! This is THE highest point in Illinois. We aren't quite Colorado here people but this is HIGH!
