The week between Christmas and New Years Day should be filled with kids playing with their gifts but, let's face it, they need to get out of the house.

Isn't crazy how kids get new toys, books, or games, yet still get bored? Being a kid is tough, especially for that final week of Christmas break. It goes by in a blink of an eye for most adults but lasts forever when you're a kid.

As a child, I remember thinking Christmas break was super long. Now, as an adult, a week or two off is never long enough.

If your children are anything like mine they need to get out at least every other day or so or things are going to get dicey. "Can we do something fun today?" As if the video games, devices, and endless amount of streaming options aren't enough.

"Make them play outside!", you might be thinking. Living in an apartment with no yard means it's a trip to the park, which sounds easy enough but can turn into a lot in a hurry some days.

As a single dad, I do my best to find activities to do at home to provide entertainment that doesn't involve a screen. I'm even getting better and better and finding things to do outside of the home that won't break the bank. Sometimes I even find FREE stuff!
