The police in Wisconsin want to remind the residents that marijuana is still against the law in their state.

In just a few days, on January 1st, 2020, recreational cannabis will be legal in Illinois. Unfortunately, that doesn't include our neighbor to the north. Their laws are staying the same. If you live in Wisconsin, please don't forget that. You could easily be confused. I don't want you to get in trouble with the law.

Somebody else would also like to remind you. That's the police in Wisconsin.

According to wtmj.com,

"Recreational marijuana sales start Jan. 1 in Illinois, and the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department reminds residents that Wisconsin state laws have not changed."

"The sheriff's department understands that residents can travel to Illinois next month and consume recreational marijuana, but the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department will continue enforcing state laws and local ordinances in regards to marijuana."
