The next generation of fast food is here. McDonald's announced that 2500 kiosks will replace cashiers at McDonald's locations across the country.

The placing your order with kiosks will also include table delivery. So you punch in exactly what you want at a touch screen, insert your money and a McDonald's employee will deliver the food to your table. Also in the near future for the fast food giant is mobile delivery from 14,000 locations. So could you could order your Big Mac and fries from your Iphone here is Rockford and beyond.

A McDonald's Spokeswoman explains the digital kiosks ordering like this:

"Our CEO, Steve Easterbrook, has said on many occasions that self-order kiosks in McDonald's restaurants are not a labor replacement. They provide an opportunity to transition back-of-the-house positions to more customer service roles such as concierges and table service where they are able to truly engage with guests and enhance the dining experience."

So what happens if Rockford loses all of it's McDonald's cashier positions. Do you think this is something that Rockford will embrace?
