Recently "we" broke an Illinois law, by ordering a custom air freshener that hangs from the rearview mirror on my wife's car...What in the world? I say "we" because I bought it but she drives with it...

So I'm sure you've seen these custom air fresheners, you take any photo and send it to this company...and they make it an air freshener. Pretty cool! I can't even remember what the scent was of this air freshener...Watermelon, strawberry, who knows but we think it's pretty damn cool!

So I found one of our favorite pics from our wedding last October, and thought this is perfect. A nice reminder of us in her car...that's smells good. Perfect. Little did I know, that by doing this I was breaking the law in Illinois!

Oh, here's the pic that was used for the air freshener...Me and my "Dime."

So let's get to the legal part...this is a trip.

"The state of Illinois prohibits drivers from hanging any obstructions from their rearview mirror." - The News Wheel

Fuzzy dice, a Vanilla Scented Tree, a picture of your beautiful wife, a gym sock?? Illegal. Busted. What's the deal, what's the origin and time frame of this law?

From TheFlatBkny it is illegal because it can obstruct your view. Therefore you are breaking the law...Insert Judas Priest song here:

You see people driving freely with all kinds of stuff on their mirror, so I think we are safe. Granted I do find myself staring at it quite a bit...
