There's a warning that says to avoid dressing up your chicken for Halloween.

I must be missing out on something.

I know people who dress up their dogs and cats in Halloween costumes but never a pet chicken. In fact, I don't know anyone who even has a pet chicken.

There must be some out there.

According to foxnews.com,

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has asked chicken owners to avoid committing a party fowl this Halloween by dressing up their domestic livestock. The Atlanta-based CDC said costumed chickens out for a night of trick-or-treating run the risk of infecting people with a particularly potent strain of salmonella."

I have no problem with leaving the chickens out of the holiday festivities. Especially, if it helps to avoid getting seriously ill.

If I see one trick or treating on my block, I will act like they are Michael Myers and run in the opposite direction.

Be safe on Halloween.
