Game on! Atari has announced they will be opening video game-themed hotels throughout the United Stations in 2020. This will be an experience you won't be able to find anywhere else in the United States.

Atari Hotels has confirmed at least eight "one-of-a-kind video game-themed destinations", beginning Phoenix in 2020. Future locations also include Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.

Atari Hotels level up hotel entertainment with fully immersive experiences for every age and gaming ability, including the latest in VR and AR (Virtual and Augmented Reality). Select hotels will also feature state-of-the-art venues and studios to accommodate esports events.

Beyond that statement, and the entire press release, we don't fully know what to expect. Personally, I'm hoping for a D-pad on each room's door with a "cheat code" to unlock the room. There might as well be a standard card reader too, just to make it easy for guests that aren't into that.

One of the geniuses behind the hotel chain's conception is also the producer of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series reboot. He described the interior look of the hotel and it already sounds awesome.

When creating this brand-new hotel concept, we knew that Atari would be the perfect way to give guests the ‘nostalgic and retro meets modern’ look and feel we were going for. Let’s face it, how cool will it be to stay inside an Atari?!

The first Atari Hotel will be in Phoenix, AZ when they press the start button in 2020. No other dates have been announced as of this writing.
