We all get mad at our better halves and sometimes secretly wish for revenge, but we don't usually act on those wishes, right? Well, one woman in Chicago took her wish to get back at her husband too far recently and got herself busted as a result.

Illinois State Police Arrest Woman For Making False Kidnapping Report

To be fair, we don't actually know what led Sherell Y. Story to call 911 and make a false kidnapping claim to send officers after her husband, but I can only assume she was super mad at him for something.

According to a news release issued by the Illinois State Police on March 1, 2022, Sherell Story called 911 on December 5, 2021 and said "her relative was being held against her will inside of a white conversion van". Illinois State Police Troopers then located the van on Interstate 290, got involved in a pursuit, the van crashed, and then things really started to get weird. ISP's news release says;

The reported suspect, Stephen J. Southern, a 36-year-old male of Chicago, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby residence. Southern exited the residence, was taken into custody, and charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Cannabis, and other traffic offences. Southern was the only individual in the car, and no kidnapping had occurred.

Following Southern's arrest, ISP agents began an investigation into Sherrell Story's "kidnapping" claim, discovered it was completely bogus, and fast forward about two months, arrested Story for disorderly conduct on February 28, 2022.

The moral of the story here? If you want to get your husband busted by the police, make sure the reason is legit or you might end up in the slammer too.
