Three of America’s ‘Best Restaurants’ are in Illinois

The massively popular Rachael Ray Show asked some of the biggest and best chefs in America to pick their favorite restaurants.

You shouldn't be surprised to see they picked a few in Illinois.

If you've lived in the state for more than a few seconds you know that we've got plenty of great options whether it be in Chicago, the suburbs, Rockford, or even downstate, Illinois has the goods when it comes to grub.

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised though that only three restaurants were named by those chefs on Rachael Ray's list of the Best Restaurants in America.

First up, is an easy one for residents and tourists, Chef Don Drucker chose Superdawg.

Superdawg at 6363 North Milwaukee in Chicago is an American institution.

Having been around for over 70 years now, Superdawg is the place to go if you want a real Chicago hot dog.

The other hasn't been around quite as long but it seems like people really really care about Oriole, 661 West Walnut Street in Chicago.

Chef Jeff Mauro chose Oriole as the best restaurant in America, and you can tell why.

Dinner reservations are booked all the way through November 4th. Luckily for us, there is a waitlist, so if someone should fall off, you can get in to see what Oriole is all about.

Speaking of waiting, you may be doing the same if you were to try the third and final Illinois restaurant featured on Rachael Ray's Best Restaurants in America list.

That's because getting in at Alinea might be the only place more difficult than getting in at Oriole.

Alinea, 1723 North Halsted in Chicago, and chosen by Chef Jet Tila, is more than just dining out. It's a food experience.
