If you're looking for something fun and free to do this weekend, why not head to Rochelle and look up at the sky.

It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not even a UFO. These are professional skydivers trying to qualify for the World Parachuting Championship, which will be held in Australia. For now though, and through the 18th of September, jumpers are taking the leap in Rochelle.

It's free to watch, duh, so load up the car and get to Rochelle for a unique visual from above.

Spectators are welcome during the event, and there is no charge to watch. CSC will also be operating regular first-time jumper operations during the event for people interested in making a tandem skydive. The Flight Deck Bar & Grill on-site at CSC will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Additional food vendors will be also be attending.

I'll leave the jumping to someone else and enjoy the ground under my feet.
