Depending on your perspective, it's been quite a week for food product recalls. It's bad for the companies that have had to issue recall notices, but good for those of us who like to eat food without running a big risk of food poisoning.

Earlier in the week we told you about Rochelle-based BrightFarms recalling some of their salad products due to the risk of Salmonella infection, and now comes the news that another company, that makes an entirely different food product, is calling back some of their products because of worries over listeria.

Before we get to the products, here's what the Mayo Clinic has to say about listeria:

Listeria infection is a foodborne bacterial illness that can be very serious for pregnant women, people older than 65 and people with weakened immune systems. It's most commonly caused by eating improperly processed deli meats and unpasteurized milk products. Healthy people rarely become ill from listeria infection, but the disease can be fatal to unborn babies, newborns and people with weakened immune systems.

Well, that certainly sounds less than pleasant. If you're wondering what foods beyond improperly processed deli meats and unpasteurized milk products have been known to cause listeria problems, the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that raw sprouts, melons, hot dogs, pâtés, lunch meats, cold cuts, and smoked fish have all been sources at one time or another.

The current recall from Give and Go Prepared Foods is about 26 certain muffin products that were sold by Walmart, Costco, and 7-Eleven under different brand names. Here's what to look for, according to the FDA:
