‘Things I Wanna Text My Ex’ Is Much-Needed Therapy for the Broken-Hearted
There are so many things you probably want to tell your ex. Now's your chance to do it, without the ugly blowback it may cause.
A 24-year-old man named Sean Drohan has created a Google Spreadsheet called "Things I Wanna Text My Ex," which, as the name so clearly indicates, is filled with texts people would like to tell their ex via text message.
It's the perfect companion for the anti-Valentine's Day supporter in all of us.
The delicate nature of romantic relationships means these texts feature a wide array of emotions, ranging from the devastated ("I still think about your eyes, your scent, your smile and your voice every day. Almost everything reminds me of you in some way or another. I know you're happy out in LA now, and I'm happy for you, but I miss you terribly, every day. I still love you, and, likely always will") to the angry "You're a douche canoe and I hate you" to the downright odd ("I still have your socks").
Drohan sees the value in venting. "There's plenty I would like to say to my exes (and too much I've already said)," he said to Refinery29. "People enjoy anonymous opportunities to cry into the ether. There's kind of this unanswered question of to whom we say these things and why, but that's what's interesting."
