Babies are the cutest, baby animals are pretty cute too and we're lucky to have a few of them in Belvidere at the Summerfield Zoo.

I won't lie to you, I'm pretty afraid of most animals. I don't know where that came from, my mom said I tripped over a dog once as a kid and it bit me, so maybe that's it... but I tell you, even though I'm afraid of adult animals, I am not afraid of baby animals!

Summerfield Zoo is such a great place, we are so lucky to have it in Belvidere just a quick ride from Rockford and we're also lucky they have cute baby animals arriving each year.

Just today they announced this little girl's arrival.

Her name is Poppy, and she is a 'rare blue phase Artic Fox.'

You might not actually be able to give her a hug, but don't you want to?

If you make a trip to Summerfield Zoo this summer, you can catch Poppy playing in their animal nursery or in the daily animal shows.

The best part is that there are no reservations needed.

You can also check out some of their other fun animals when you visit like Flash the Sloth. He's not scary at all!

Summerfield Zoo is open Wednesdays thru Sundays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Catch Midday Michelle on 97 ZOK from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Follow her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
