Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Reportedly Really, Actually Eyeing 2020 Presidential Run
Can you smell what The Rock is campaigning?
A man named Kenton Tilford allegedly filed in support of a presidential bid by Dwayne Johnson on Sunday, July 9, The Hill reports.
The filing, made for a campaign committee titled "Run the Rock 2020," was created using a West Virginia address, though The Hill reports that the connection between Tilford and the WWE superstar and actor is currently unknown.
Speaking to GQ back in May, the Baywatch star shared that running for government office could be a "real possibility."
"A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful,'" Johnson shared. "I didn't want to be flippant—‘We'll have three days off for a weekend! No taxes!'"
Meanwhile, considering the current state of politics—press room body slams, Trump wrestling GIFs and all—it's not such a stretch to imagine a WWE champion in the White House.
