I remember driving past this house as a kid and being FASCINATED by it. Now I get to see what it looks like on the inside.

I asked Riley if he knew what house I was talking about if I reference the cool-looking white house on the corner of Highcrest and Chelsea with the frosted block windows. His reply was "Yeah, Amy and I call it the 'boat house'."

I kind of get boat house if you look at the above picture. Possibly the railing looks like the edge of a boat. I don't know. All I know is that everyone that I asked about this house knew exactly what I was talking about and wanted a look inside. Then I saw the for sale sign and knew today was my lucky day. Let's take a tour.

This is the other side of the house which you've probably never seen unless you've done a little trespassing. As you can see there's more of the glass blocks and a pretty sweet patio that would be a great place to hang out. So far the house has only gotten better. Let's move inside.

Here's the kitchen. While it is tight those are some pretty awesome windows with a decent view and a lot of counter space. I cook 98% of the meals in my house and I could definitely make this work. I really like the fact that there's a split 75/25 sink in there. I have a 50/50 split sink and HATE it. I rarely use the "drying side" and the "washing side" gets cramped fast. Up next the living room.

Things I like about this room. The window wall is pretty great and it's a pretty big space. Not enthralled about the carpeting. Gonna need to check for some hardwood under there. All in all a pretty great room. Up next, they foyer.

A couple of questions right away. One. I hope those doorbell chimes work because those are VERY cool. Two. The phone better come with the house. That would be a breaking point. Three. What is that hanging from the ceiling? I'm guessing a light but not sure. No offense to the decorator but that's getting replaced immediately. Let's go upstairs.

This is the other side of the glass block window we saw on the back of the house. Nothing much to say about this other than the fact that you should probably put some plants on the window sill and I'd also look at removing the carpet. All in all pretty nice. Let's check out a bedroom, I think.

I think this is a bedroom. Is it the master? Not sure. Honestly not blown away by this. You're going to be shocked to hear this but I'd probably rip out this carpet as well. Remember the cool circle window in the first picture? Let's take a look at the other side.

Honestly this thing intrigues me more than anything else in the house. How does that work? Does it open all the way? Only half way? Does that one part rotate all the way around? I may stop by on my way home and ask to look at this. I won't be able to sleep later. What do the bathrooms look like? Glad you asked.

The answer. Competent?  A little on the small side but I'm a guy so I really don't care how big it is. The only thing I really care about in a bathroom is if the shower head is above my head and it looks like we have some decent clearing in this one.

Bottom line is this is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,256 sqft house that's being listed for 180k on zillow right now. If I were looking for a house in the Rockford area I would definitely go kick the tires. Good luck to the owner and thanks for letting us get a peek inside.
