Gas prices may rise nationally this summer, but the amount of money Illinoisans would pay to drive could be hitting an all time high soon.

Hooray, I found gas under $2.00 a gallon!

If you're like me, and I know I am--you've never really considered what day of the week it is while stopping to fill up with gas. I mean, call me old school, but I generally fill up when it appears that my tank is low and in need of a refuel. Now I find out that's been costing me money.

Time to fill up! Rockford gas prices have officially dipped under $2 a gallon. It is a summer miracle, and we should all absolutely take advantage of it.

A gas station in Oklahoma City is the first in the the U.S. to sell fuel for less than two bucks a gallon since July 30, 2010. Driving a thousand miles to pay $1.99 a gallon isn't going to save you any money, but you don't have to drive too far to get gas at a price you haven't paid in years...
