Sycamore Photographer Using Talent to Help Local Tornado Victims
One photographer is using her talent to help those who lost everything in the recent tornado.
Danika is an extremely talented photographer. Her work is impeccable and her heart is full of so much love, it's amazing how she can fit anymore in there.
Danika, a Sycamore native and owner of D Edge Photography, has decided to offer FREE photography sessions to those who have lost everything in the recent tornadoes. This gives an opportunity for families to rebuild their walls with new, beautiful photos of their family.
I spoke to Danika via email and she expressed to me how this fantastic idea came to be:
It's always been a priority of mine to help others in need, so when I think of something that not only can help others but will allow me to apply my talents, I run with it. I got the idea to do this fundraising project from the simple fact that I don't have a lot of free time. And though I don't know anyone drastically effected, I wanted to find a way to help those affected by the tornadoes.
However, with working 7 days a week and having every moment of my day dictated by a demanding schedule, I don't have the ability to go out to the disaster areas and help with clean up.
Thus the Mommy&Me and Daddy&Me sessions for Disaster Relief was born. I thought that since I was going to be running a Mother's Day and Father's Day special, anyway, I might as well donate the money and help in a financial way.
Not only will there be free sessions to those who have lost their homes, there are also two dates of mini photography sessions with all profits being donated to disaster relief efforts.
The two mini sessions feature electronically delivered photographs, and if you pre-pay, you will receive an added special bonus. The sessions will be held in Me Unique, which is located at 437 W. State Street in downtown Sycamore.
- Mommy and Me sessions will be held May 16th
- Daddy and Me sessions will be held June 20th
