If you are a teen living in Winnebago or Boone County and looking to make extra cash this summer, SWEEP is hiring.

If you haven't heard of the SWEEP program before, it is a perfect opportunity for young people to make some extra cash and better the community.

There are many residents int he area that need help with their lawns and basic property maintenance during the summer months.

The SWEEP program, coordinated by the Community Action Agency of the City of Rockford Human Services Department, hires teens in the area to help with the lawn and property maintenance.

To be eligible for a position with the SWEEP program, you need to:

  • Live in Winnebago or Boone County
  • Be 16 - 20 years old
  • Meet income guidelines
  • Turn in application no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 16

If you or your child fits the requirement, loves the outdoors, would like to build their resume and help better the community, this is the perfect opportunity.

Applications are available at two locations:

  • Community Services Division of the City of Rockford Human Services Department: 555 N. Court St. Suite 301 *for Winnebago County Residents
  • Belvidere City Hall: 401 Whitney Blvd. *for Boone County Residents
