You know things aren't going well when a sportsbook is refunding bets.

That's something that never happens. Usually, when you place a bet, good or bad, the sportsbook is keeping the money. However, they can do whatever they want with the money before the bet closes out.

Strangely, that's how weird and bad a bet for Mitchell Trubisky for NFL MVP sounds at this point in the football season.

Trubisky's Chicago Bears sit at 3-5 at the midway point of the season. Trubisky has been as bad as their record if not worse.

However, things started with much more promise for Trubisky and the Bears. There was so much positivity surrounding Trubisky and the Bears there were all kinds of talk about him scoring MVP honors by season's end.

Trubisky started the season at 100-1 odds to win NFL MVP, and there was so much money being laid on that bet, the odds raised to 60-1.

Now, the Bears and Trubisky are scuffling and any chance of winning the award is evaporating.

The folks at PointBet Sportbook are calling it a "Good Karma" refund, and it makes sense, however, as one Twitter user pointed out "Giving people who bet on Trubisky their money back to make more horrible bets isn't a bad idea here."

That comment is totally true, at this point in the season the only thing worse than betting on Trubisky to score the MVP is gambling on the Bears as a whole to turn it around.
